Roadtrip to loobbbbbbsterrrr land!!!!!

This summer, the engsci crew decided to plan a road trip together to boston to visit mel mel (and well, yes to eat lobsters.. which is clearly the primary attraction).

So with a departure time of early morning, we took two cars and drove down to Boston.  Because of various starting locations, we decided to meet up right before the border.  Some people were late and hence Geoff, Jason and I hung out at Duty free for a long time waiting for Pong, Charles, WYC and Xida to show up.

We drove to Ithaca next to pick up Alwin and stopped by Lincoln's diner for lunch and checked out the Ithaca waterfall.  At the diner, Geoff got picked on/frowned upon by the server, when he ordered white toast.. it was actually quite funny.

After lunch, we continued driving and went to Boston.  Upon arrival we met up with Mel at a pub and played some pool.  We both got lost on the way there and ended up with a little detour to the Boston airport.  It was quite good to meet up with Mel and her sister Melissa.

The next day we spent checking out the tall ship exhibit (one day i'll figure out how to upload pictures here to make the blog more interesting). We had lunch at the Faneuill hall where we had chowder and lobster buns. Walked around Boston and finally ended the evening with a nice meal at Legal seafood (giant lobsters!!).  (It was not quite lobster season so that was the best we can do...)

Sunday morning we went to Harvard to visit and had brunch before we started heading back to Toronto..

We decided after this trip that we'll try to do a road trip every summer =) Yay to good friends and a good time!! (and of course, lobsters!)

Weekend roadtrip - Rochester NY

I've been terrible at updating this blog.. partially because i haven't been travelling much.. and also that latter part of time that I spent in HK was really unproductive (so unproductive that i didn't even want to write blogs...) -> I did stay there until Oct 13... and then started work on Oct 20 (flew right to Chicago for Pre-ACT) - and then came back on Nov 4.. then flew out again for ACT Nov 10-20 @ Cape Cod boston. Exciting things.

Anyways work has been great so far, but I haven't gone anywhere since those minimal work travel. On a local case in the financial district. benefit is i get to live downtown and the client pays for my metropass, and i'm close to my friends when i'm down at the clients.

So back to the reason of this post -> Rochester roadtrip. Took a road trip with a bunch of curling peeps and went down to Rochester for a cross-border friendly. We obviously kicked their ass (actually i never thought that was going to happen, but now that we think about it, it makes sense.. i mean curling IS a canadian sport). 3.5 hour drive.. not that far, super enjoyable trip.. mainly because of the company ;)

spotted emma watson at LKF!!

So that was the BACK of emma watson that I spotted.. dam.. should've stopped her and asked for a picture...  Last night, I went to pi with winnie and her friends, it was quite a fun club in LKF.

I seem to hang out in LKF quite a bit, at least I've figured out how to take public transportation home. heh

Yesterday, I went to check out this mall called megabox with david.  I think he did most of the shopping whereas I was a bit shopped out.  We then met up with the gang and went up the peak.  The minibus ride up from the IFC was not fun at all.. I totally got quite car sick, and to a point that everyone sat away from me... Next time - we're taking the tram up...(it's much more straightforward and stable).  After some photo ops up at the peak, we took a taxi down (because there were 4 of us.. dam should've figured that out going up) and went to LKF hagandaaz to meet up with Jeff.  We had the epic ice cream heaven!  It was definitely so heavenly...

I wish we have hagandaaz stores in Canada...

HK again - book fair and b+ab

Went to the bookfair today and bought tons of books with MMM.
There was quite the line up to the convention center even during a weekday.

It was also today that I decided to buy that b+ab bag.. and i've done something that no other HK locals would do.. I started off being in TST and went to the b+ab store.. It didn't have the colour that I wanted so I went across the harbour to Central to check it out there at that store.  They also didn't have it and we got them to call around to ask for me.  they located stock in TusenWan.  Since there's an MTR line that goes from Central to TsuenWan, i decided it was okay to go there.  And so I took another 30 mins to travel there only to find that it was not the right purse... Since I'm an unproductive person in hk and was not in a rush to go anywhere, I asked them to locate stock for me again.  This time they found it at another TST location... so i went there and found it..

Yep, i decided to take a grand tour of HK via the MTR today...
